Bigger League. Real Rivalries.

On July 11, Atlanta Air welcomed athletes to Marietta, Georgia, for the team's tryout. From the first rotation to the final evaluation, one thing became increasingly clear: this isn't the same Atlanta Air that took the floor last season.

Every Spot Had to Be Earned

There was no sense of comfort inside the gym. Every athlete arrived knowing roster spots would be earned through execution, consistency, and the ability to stand out when it mattered most.

The result was a tryout where every turn on the floor carried meaning. Athletes weren't simply showcasing their skills—they were competing against one another for the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of Atlanta Air.

Tumbling Set the Tone

The day opened with tumbling, immediately showcasing the depth of talent competing for a roster spot. Athletes then moved into Bullseye and Highest Tumbler, where precision, consistency, and difficulty were on full display as competitors looked to separate themselves from the field.

The evaluations continued with all-girl and coed big trick, giving athletes another opportunity to demonstrate creativity, execution, and the ability to perform under pressure. Throughout every phase of the tryout, the level of competition never let up, with athletes continuing to raise the standard set by the group before them.

A Team Moving Forward

Perhaps the biggest takeaway wasn't a single tumbling pass or standout stunt—it was how much Atlanta Air has evolved.

The overall talent level throughout the gym was noticeably stronger than it was a year ago, creating a different level of competition from start to finish. The coaching staff has made it clear that expectations have changed, and the athletes responded by embracing that challenge.

Atlanta Air enters Season Two with a new outlook and a roster determined to compete at the highest level. If tryouts were any indication, this team shouldn't be viewed as one trying to catch up. Expect Atlanta Air to be part of the conversation when the Pro Cheer League's top teams are discussed throughout the 2027 season.
