Season 2 of the Pro Cheer League is bringing a new level of competition to the mat with a brand-new head-to-head format and three new games designed to highlight the speed, athleticism, teamwork, and strategy of our professional athletes.
This season, teams will compete directly against their opponents in a completely head-to-head style, putting every skill, decision, and point under the spotlight. With each point having the potential to impact the outcome of a match, fans can expect a faster and more competitive experience from start to finish.
Scoring: The winner of each game within a quarter will earn the designated points for that game. Quarter 1 is worth 2 points. All games in Quarter 2 and 3 are worth 1 point. Quarter 4 games are worth 2 points.
Adding to the new format are three brand-new games that will bring even more excitement to each match. From racing against the clock to showcasing the skills you can only do in the pros, each game will challenge athletes in a different way.
Here’s a closer look at what each new game brings to Season 2.
Full Out Relay
Full Out Relay brings every element of a cheerleading routine into one fast-paced, head-to-head race. Two teams compete simultaneously, racing through the required relay skills including baskets, pyramids, coed stunts, all-girl stunts, standing tumbling, and running tumbling before finishing with a final pyramid.
Athletes have three attempts to complete each required skill in the relay line up. If they are unsuccessful after three attempts, a five-second penalty is added to the team’s final time.
The race ends when the final pyramid is completed. The fastest total time, after all penalties are assessed, wins.
Big Trick Pyramid
Big Trick Pyramid puts creativity, difficulty, timing, and execution head-to-head. Both teams perform with exactly 20 athletes, with three designated moments to hit and hold their pyramid pictures for four counts.
After both teams complete their pyramid combinations, judges score the performances and choose a winner, considering creativity, difficulty, and execution.
Tic Tac Pro
Tic Tac Pro combines standing tumbling with the strategy of tic-tac-toe. Athletes must start from standing and tumble into boxes to complete three in a row for their team. Before each pass, athletes will call the box they are targeting. Stick the pass in that box, and it belongs to their team. Miss it, and the box goes to the opponent.
Teams can also attempt to steal boxes from their opponent, making every pass a strategic decision. Athletes must finish every pass with a double full.
The first team to claim three consecutive boxes wins.
